Welcome to Jangu Tusome, where our mission is to transform rural communities in Mpigi District through innovative solutions and dedicated support. We are committed to eradicating multidimensional poverty and fostering sustainable development through our flagship projects in pumpkin value chain management and poultry farming.
Our approach integrates a unique SACCO model with a comprehensive digital platform, empowering members at every stage—from input supply and farming to harvesting, processing, and marketing. By providing essential training and resources, we enhance agricultural productivity and reduce post-harvest losses. Our efforts have led to a significant increase in average pumpkin yields, improved storage techniques, and a rise in the market value of processed pumpkin flour.
We believe in the power of community and inclusivity. Since 2018, we have successfully trained 13 SACCOs, each with an average of 50 members. Our digital platform plays a crucial role in this success, allowing members—especially those in remote areas—to track savings, manage loans, and access financial services via smartphones. This technology has doubled the average monthly income of our members and improved their overall economic stability.
Our commitment extends beyond agriculture. The platform also supports educational and health needs through micro health insurance and fee payments, ensuring that members’ children receive continuous education and essential healthcare. We are proud to see increased school attendance rates and universal health coverage among members’ children.
